Job Summary: Caterpillar is seeking a Demand & Orders Consultant. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager Sales & Operations Planning and will be primarily responsible for supporting customer inquiries for order lead time and order configuration change. You will be responsible to process new orders and order changes, and to make sure requests can be successfully received by the order system. As a member of the Demand Stream team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do: Supervising and controlling new sales orders, identifying the key elements and communicate downstream for required actions. Auditing order change requests from customers, evaluate acceptance of the order change request from a material, production plan, technical and logistics perspective. Serving as primary contact for customer inquiries; providing feedback about lead time, planned timeline, order change, order reschedules, etc. Align customers order with sales production plan to achieve the monthly goal. Primary contact with other departments to manage sales and customer priorities. Regular communication during off-hours with the product group or operations team based in the USA and Indonesia What Skills you will have: Customer Focus : Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Level Working Knowledge: • Communicates the importance of customer needs/expectations and commits to resolving them. • Researches and verifies customer needs and expectations. • Helps link organizational objectives to customer needs and expectations. • Meets regularly with customers to understand their wants, needs and expectations. • Participates in the preparation of short-term demand management for a specific product or site. Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Level Working Knowledge: • Applies an assigned technique for critical thinking in a decision-making process. • Identifies, obtains, and organizes relevant data and ideas. • Participates in documenting data, ideas, players, stakeholders, and processes. • Recognizes, clarifies, and prioritizes concerns. • Assists in assessing risks, benefits and consideration of alternatives. Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Level Working Knowledge: • Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. • Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution. • Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems. • Uses tools, with guidance, to predict and plan demand, assess seasonal factors and trends and effectively influence demand. Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, and monitor projects to achieve the objectives. Level Working Knowledge: • Obtains information from stakeholders during the planning stage of a project. • Produces basic demand management reports for senior staff to reconcile the demand balances. • Assists in the collection and preparation of required demand information. • Summarizes and reports problems such as issues and concerns currently existing in demand management operations.
