About Jiva: Jiva, is a venture incubated by OIam in late 2020 with a mission to transform smallholder farming and improve the lives of farmer It provides four key services:  Offtake services:  Direct procurement from farmers with transparency in prices and reliability in operations  Input eCommerce:  Sales of agri inputs directly to farmers as well as to village level entrepreneurs / retailers while improving availability of products and credits Credit services:  Credit as a service to farmers, input retailers and crop collectors for buying inputs and paying to farmers in time Advisory platform:  To educate farmers on best practices for growing their crops based on weather conditions and information like location, seed type, sowing date, etc. Jiva is focused on smallholder farmers as we believe they are critical to the future of agriculture, humanity & the planet; however, they face significant challenges: Five hundred million smallholder farmers globally who support over 2 billion people within their families. Yet they comprise the majority of the world’s poorest people. Smallholder farmers produce 70% of the world’s food. Yet they comprise of the world’s most malnourished, hungry population. They are the most vulnerable to climate change which threatens up to  25% of crop yields Since starting operations in Q1 2021, Jiva has worked with over 40k smallholder farmers in Indonesia to procure over 150,000 MT of corn. About this opportunity: We are looking for a Category Agriinput Manager (Chemical). You will review products, evaluate suppliers, and develop merchandising initiatives with vendors and suppliers for specifically crop protection. Your high energy, drive, creativity, and outstanding communication skills will prevail to grow the business further and achieve continued company growth. Join a talented, passionate, and fun team from across the globe A diverse and inclusive environment with colleagues from around the world Competitive compensation and benefits (including base, bonus, and stock options) Upsides of a rapidly growing startup, with the financial security and strategic advantage of a global corporate backing What you will do: Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends Devise long-term development strategies for product categories Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility Determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory Assume responsibility for budget development and revenue for the category Who we are looking for: Extensive and proven experience of 6+ years as Sales Manager or Demand Manager Category Manager or equivalent in Chemical (Crop Protection) from an agri-input company Solid knowledge of category management of Chemical (Crop Protection) , marketing and sales principles A solid understanding on Corn/Chili/Paddy Business is a plus A leadership style that is collaborative, empowering, and inclusive, which inspires confidence and builds a sense of community Proven experience in leading negotiations with different degrees of complexity and structuring commercial agreements An articulate communicator with highly developed presentation and interpersonal skills Fluent and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa are required. Sound judgment, integrity, high ethical standards, and a willingness to take responsibility and accountability
