Analyst-Principal Analyst (Energy Technologies Department)

Functions:​You will be part of a team that assesses the feasibility of deploying new and emerging energy technologies in Singapore, with the objective of exploring possible options to support Singapore’s transition towards a clean energy future.You will need to conduct studies, develop implementation plans and formulate policies. In fulfilling your responsibilities, significant amount of coordination with consultants, academia, government agencies and technology vendors would be required.[Note: You will be assigned a class of technology to focus on. This will be communicated to you upon shortlist.]Responsibilities-- Assess feasibility of deploying new and emerging energy technologies in Singapore​​- Conduct techno-economic studies on new and emerging energy technologies.- Assess the feasibility, risks, and benefits of implementing these technologies.- Propose strategic roles that these technologies could perform as part of Singapore’s energy landscape.- Integrate findings into recommendations to shape policies and plans.- Develop / implement plans and policies to enable deployment- Develop policies, legislation, and regulations to enable the deployment of promising energy technologies.- Study and develop the necessary ecosystem (e.g. human resource, supporting infrastructure, research capabilities etc) required to sustain the deployment and operation of these technologies.- Understand and develop funding and financing frameworks / mechanisms to facilitate deployment.- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans to support efforts in communicating complex technological concepts or policies to stakeholders in clear and easy-to-understand manner.- Develop energy technology-related capabilities through the engagement of international organisations​​​- Develop and submit reports to the Government and international organisations in collaboration with other agencies.- Facilitate peer-review engagements by international organisations.- Degree in any discipline.- Relevant working experience in the energy industry would be an advantage.- Strong understanding of technology concepts and trends, with the ability to assess economic and policy implications.- Strong interest in new and emerging energy technologies, including nuclear.- Able to coordinate complex workstreams with multiple stakeholders such as Government agencies and consultants.- Familiarity with Government policy formulation and implementation will be an advantage.- Excellent analytical, planning, and communication skills (both written and verbal).- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight timelines.- We are looking for a committed team player, with a strong interest to shape Singapore’s energy landscape.
