Role Overview: The IT Support Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the technology infrastructure of the retail company, providing technical assistance to employees, and ensuring uninterrupted operations of various systems and software utilized in the retail environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support to retail store staff and office employees. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly to minimize downtime. Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of point-of-sale (POS) systems, barcode scanners, printers, and other retail-specific hardware. Respond to IT support tickets and resolve issues within agreed service level agreements (SLAs). Maintain an inventory of IT assets such as computers, tablets, mobile devices, and peripherals. Track software licenses and ensure compliance with licensing agreements Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience in IT support roles, preferably in a retail or customer-facing environment. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Familiarity with retail-specific technologies such as POS systems, inventory management software, and electronic payment systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with non-technical users. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or equivalent are desirable. Working Conditions: This role typically operates in a retail store or office environment. May require occasional evening or weekend work to perform system maintenance or support store operations outside of regular business hours. Some travel may be required to provide on-site support at retail locations or attend training sessions.
