Role and Responsibilities: Project Planning: Collaborate with welding manager and engineers to understand the welding requirements of the project. Develop welding execution plans, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and safety standards. Estimate resource requirements, including manpower, equipment, and materials for welding activities. Supervision and Leadership: Manage a team of welders and supervisions, providing leadership and guidance. Ensure that welding personnel are adequately trained and qualified for the tasks assigned. Oversee daily welding operations and allocate resources efficiently. Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to meet project standards and specifications. Ensure welding activities for compliance of with codes, standards, and project requirements. Address and resolve any quality issues promptly. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Prioritize and enforce safety protocols and procedures in all welding activities. Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure that all welding personnel adhere to safety guidelines. Implement environmental protection measures and ensure compliance with regulations. Coordination with Other Departments: Collaborate with other construction disciplines, such as piping, structural, and mechanical, to coordinate welding activities seamlessly. Work closely with procurement to ensure the timely availability of welding materials and consumables. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including inspection reports, test results, and certifications. Provide regular progress reports to project management and stakeholders. Ensure that as-built documentation accurately reflects the welding work completed. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to welding processes, equipment, and personnel. Address any deviations from the project plan promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry advancements, codes, and standards related to welding in the oil and gas sector. Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of welding operations. Qualifications and Requirements: Extensive experience (minimum 15 years) in welding operations, with a focus on oil and gas construction. In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and processes. Familiarity with industry codes and standards (., AWS D1.1, ASME IX, etc) related to welding. Leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Certification in welding inspection (CWI or CSWIP 3.1) is preferred.
