Technical Packaging Engineer JOB PURPOSE The Technical Packaging Engineer is part of the Center of Excellence Hubs and interacts with internal and external stakeholders to create, design, and develop packaging structures for complex projects. He/she focuses on new product launches (local pearls), product transfers as well as business protection comprising all changes to marketed products. This position plays a pivotal role to ensure safe-effective-compliant packaging, smart-efficient-operational business solutions and ownable-intuitive-engaging consumer experiences. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Business protection & maintenance activities including: - Identification and development of packaging concepts. - On time, in full delivery of project success factors. - Creation of meaningful improvements and cost savings projects. - Effective technical transfer of information to the factory / CMO. Plans and implements the development of packaging initiatives, such as local NPDs and product transfers. Facilitates problem resolution during the development process -to meet customers’ needs- and provides guidance to continuous process improvement. Act as the key technical lead via researching, identifying and evaluating new package materials and equipment to ensure manufacturing operations are functional and cost efficient. Supports internal and external manufacturing sites and drives the development and approval of new technology implementation to assure packaging solutions meet global and local regulations. Ensure smooth collaboration with the broader DPx groups and cross-functional partners. Contributes to information transfer, alignment on strategic needs, and adherence to requirements. Identifies and develops key external partnerships (in collaboration with Procurement) to ensure best fit to project needs, strategic cost savings strategy/pipeline, innovative supplier selection, and cost budget targets. Owns the Packaging engineering responsibility for triangulated and local Consumer Health portfolio, including 3rd party performance and maintenance. WHO YOU ARE Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, or equivalent degree, with +6 years of proven experience in managing packaging development. Master’s degree in Packaging Engineering, or equivalent degree, with +3 years of proven experience in managing packaging development. Ph.D. with postdoctoral work, or international equivalent. Prior experience in managing packaging development is preferred. Proven track record in managing packaging development (including the creation, development & delivery of new packaging). Experience in business protection and maintenance of launched packaging, ensuring efficient production and best-in-class quality in the supply chain. Consumer healthcare or FMCG experience is preferred. Good understanding of packaging manufacturing / PS principles. Strong strategic thinking, business acumen and conflict management skills. Strong finance and analytical skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Results-driven mindset. Strong attention to detail and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration, open communication, and shared ownership among team members and stakeholders. Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal. Other languages is a plus.
