The function actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, across financial and non-financial risk taxonomies. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Senior Vice President Wealth and Personal Banking Risk Unsecured PolicyResponsibilities: This role supports the Country Head of WPB Risk in managing credit risk portfolio management and oversight activities for Unsecured portfolios.Understand and enable the execution of the WPB strategy in HSBC Indonesia by providing effective advice, guidance and constructive challenge. Close collaboration with Product, Underwriting and Collections, Operations and other Country or Region stakeholders to deliver risk-reward balance and sustainable growth.Lead the Unsecured Risk/Policy Team in acquisition and portfolio decision strategies with emphasis on customer experience, market competitiveness and sustained profitability. Explore use of new data or third-party tools/data to enhance decision effectiveness.Ensure all unsecured lending policies adhere to applicable Regulations and Country policies and appetite.Monitor portfolio performance closely to ensure that relevant risk models and tools are operating effectively and as expected.Collaborate with regional colleagues and support all regional initiatives relevant to HSBC Indonesia including data-related and process streamlining.Act as second line of defense risk steward for credit risk in advising unsecured lending risk appetite, enforcing guiding principles on credit policy framework and control standards, as well as review/inputs to WPB Risk and Controls Assessment process.Provide second line oversight on material risks related to Credit Related Operational Losses.Work closely with other members of the country WPB Risk team and provide the necessary support for the relevant governance/regulatory deliverables, as well as Quality Assurance responsibilities.Key support for all audits/reviews/management forums in relation to Unsecured lending.Mentor and lead a team of risk analysts managing workloads effectively. Proactively manage performance and foster people development.Key member of the Country WPB Risk management team, provide necessary leadership and support to peers and juniors in the team.Work with business to deliver strategic aspirations whilst remaining within agreed risk appetiteEvaluate and mitigate the emerging risks of new business expansion in the digital era (new acquisition channels, partnerships, digitized and agile application journey, etc) and leverage on new technologies/data in managing the associated lending risks Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: University graduate (min. Bachelor Degree) with rich banking experience in retail credit risk management, preferably with exposure across multiple marketsStrong analytical capabilities. Knowledge on SAS or other data mining tools preferable.Good understanding of consumer credit cycle, use of scorecards or analytics, product knowledge and profit dynamicsAbility to surface risks and institutionalize sound risk management controlsAbility to analyze business problem, recommend effective credit policies and risk mitigations in highly complex situations Sound communication and organization skillsStrong interpersonal skills to coordinate and work effectively with a large number of stakeholders across several areas, including regular interaction with senior Risk and Business leaders in HSBC Indonesia and in Region. Deep retail credit knowledge and experience required to manage the unsecured portfolio effectively, understand market and competitive lanscape, and provide solutions that effectively balance risk and growth aspirations. Ability to deal with competing priorities and bring strategic solutions to enable WPB growth strategies while ensuring robust risk management and adherence to the defined risk appetite.
