The role manages a spend and the procurement manager need to set the Global Wood-based Packaging Feedstock strategy and specific for ASIA, Middle East and AFRICA. To help promote portfolio sourcing strategies by understanding, communicating, and enforcing their strategies in the business and market portfolios of Wood-based Packaging (all feedstocks) portfolio. To execute the strategy delivering the most competitive and differentiating value chain for Unilever together with our suppliers and other partners. Value covers all the elements costs competitiveness (direct & indirect price management), innovations, quality and service, and sustainability. Support and lead zero deforestation for wood-based packaging. Provide forecast and market insights to guide the business for sales price decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Relationship Management and negotiate value driven agreements that are in line with defined commercial and legal requirements and subsequently manage the supplier relationships in a strategic manner.To support Unilever NDPE (Non-deforestation, peat, or exploitation of people) commitment by sourcing FSC and PEFC certified paper feedstock and drive traceability on the supply chainProvide forecast and deep market insights to help the business for price decisions; Leading the Eco Assumptions globally for Feedstocks.Lead the hedging expansion to ensure our major contracts are hedging readyLead alternative supplier approval for resilience and introduce new competitors to challenge the status quoForming partnerships with future- fit feedstock supplier Pulp, liquid packaging, specialty paper to support sustainability related innovationProcurement StrategiesDevelop, implement and drive Wood-based feedstock procurement strategies for and with the Business Units.Work across the globe to align the strategy with market procurement manager who oversee the convertor contracts.Vendor managementLead negotiations on contract & operating issues with suppliers. Execute contract approval process according to existing financial policy and Schedule of Authorities.Maintain frequent contact with suppliers, review/resolve day-to-day issuesDevelop supplier service levels, track and analyze supplier performance data, proposing priorities for performance improvement and follow-up monitoring actions. Address and escalate supplier non-performance as appropriate.Business/ stakeholder engagementRepresent Wood-based Packaging Procurement to key internal stakeholders from BG and BU, forecasting, innovation development.Work with R&D to develop optimized and harmonized specifications within the framework of functional specifications for Wood-based Packaging in line with the business requirements and set strategy.SavingsProactively identify and deliver Savings and/or Cash in line with set targets. Identify and propose cost reduction/continuous performance improvement (supplier) opportunities. Identify, implement and record in Savings Tool (SRS).Change-managementDrive a change management agenda in the Wood-based packaging portfolio. Unlocking value for Unilever by influencing the convertors to move to direct deal. Expand the direct deal coverage from 35% globally to minimum 50%. Does this sound like you?
