Senior Cloud Engineer

Position Summary:The Senior Cloud Engineer leads the team monitoring and support of the customer cloud environments managing the operation of highly available, robust, and scalable applications for our customers, using modern technologies. The Senior Cloud Engineer overseas development, testing, and implementation of infrastructures to build the foundation for successful customer cloud environments. It is their responsibility overseas the end-to-end ownership from operations to maintenance. As part a cross-functional agile team, the Cloud Engineers maintain an understanding of the latest technologies utilising this knowledge to creativity face the challenges of cloud environments and contribute to our company standards. They act as mentors guiding the more junior members of the team. Your Day-to-Day / Responsibilities: Lead on the design and architect infrastructure solutions that align with industry best practices and security standards Lead on the development of detailed technical documentation, including system diagrams, deployment procedures, and operational guidelines Oversea the daily operations of various cloud-based customer environments Support and guide the Cloud Engineers in the management and process customer requests, incidents, problems and change requests for cloud-based customer environments Oversea the configuration management database (CMDB) ensuring it is up to date, ensuring visibility of the various customer environments and services, including their status Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security Identify, analyse, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements Key point of contact for clients, providing support, and making recommendations based on client needs What You Bring to The Team: (Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience) Qualifications Degree in Information and Communication Technology or similar education Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert Desirable: Masters’ Degree in related field Knowledge / Experience 7+ years’ experience in cloud engineering Expert in ITIL Service Management and IT Support processes Highly Experience with Infrastructure, storage, networking, and operating systems (Windows / Linux) Highly Experience in one or more cloud platforms preferably Microsoft Azure. Highly Experience with containerization (for example Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Red Hat OpenShift) Highly Experience with IaC, CI/CD and Source control solutions Experience of VMware, Citrix and Powershell Excellent programming, troubleshooting and analytical skills Experienced with methodologies and practices like DevOps, Agile, and/or Scrum Expert in the application of standards and best practices Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience with automation tools to monitor and manage cloud resources Key Relationships: Internal Cloud Engineers Wider Technology and Data team External Clients and Stakeholders Contractors Reporting Line: Service Operations Manager About Bentley Systems: Bentley Systems (Nasdaq: BSY) is the infrastructure engineering software company.
