Senior Manager, Government Relations and Market Access

:This position will report to the Indonesia Country General Manager and represent Thermo Fisher Scientific to government decision-makers and public policymakers in Indonesia. The position promotes the company by developing relationships with decision makers, elected and career government leaders and industry bodies. The ideal candidate will contribute to achieving Thermo Fisher’s growth in Indonesia via market access engagements and communications efforts. They will also establish new strategic business opportunities with federal, provincial and local government bodies in Indonesia, secure economic development subsidies and provide counsel to the Company on investment and commercial opportunities. This position offers a unique opportunity to create new strategies and relationships for the Company at a time of increasing investment in Indonesia, especially in the areas of healthcare transformation, clean energy solutions and air quality monitoring.Job Functions and Expectations:Work closely with Thermo Fisher Indonesia, Southeast Asia & Taiwan Leadership Team and Global Government Relations team to develop Thermo Fisher’s government relations strategy, programs and resource plan to meet Indonesia’s overall growth strategies and priorities;Develop and maintain positive relations with senior policy makers in Indonesian government bodies that coordinate healthcare, energy and environmental topics, and food safety.Strong connections with academia, peer companies, industry associations, industry experts and critical semi-government research institutions related to Thermo Fisher’s business.Craft response to government policy and priority changes, industry trends, technology development and investment direction;Coordinate and support engagement opportunities with senior executives, ministry officials, scientific forums, government bodies, secretaries and research institutes.Actively participate in targeted trade and commercial programs between Indonesia and the to establish contacts with peer companies and customers to promote and expand Thermo Fisher business opportunities.Build strategic partnerships and public affairs communication plans and platforms that engage public policy makers.Qualifications: Personal dedication to our Mission;Unquestionable business ethics and personal integrity;Bachelor’s degree or above education; degree in foreign affairs, political science or similar preferred;8-10 years of growing experience in government relations positions;Established network of government and business contacts in Indonesia;Strong familiarity with the Indonesian federal and provincial structure and policy decision-making and budgeting process;Consistent track record to develop advocacy plans that meet business goals and to achieve public policy success;Understanding and experience with clean energy and mining, healthcare, trade, pharma policy issues;Work optimally with senior company executives and government officials, pursuing near-term activities with long-term objectives in mind;Strong business acumen and an ability to succinctly communicate complicated issues in uncomplicated ways; partner with commercial sales and marketing team to assess business opportunities and gaps and set strategy to close those gaps;Strong analytical skills and strategic mentality; Able to align company strengths and goals with strategic government opportunities and challenges, leading to business growth;Native Indonesian proficiency required.
